Why did Jesus Christ have to be crucified ?

Why was there no other possibility for God ?

How can we get forgiveness for our sins ?

Statement:

There are always people who think (and "believe"), that they already know everything -
and in our troubled times, there are many "contemporaries" who "believe" not to have time.
For both groups, I placed the summary of this cleartext point at the beginning.

Summary:

This summary can be memorised to help you talk to other people
with understandable words, why Jesus had to die for the forgiveness of our sins.

Fact 1:  God does not take back what has been said.

Fact 2:  God has established that no sinner can get eternal life in his kingdom,
but the sinner deserves death for punishment.

Fact 3:  Everyone sins - thus is a sinner who has to die.

Fact 4:  Consequently, not a single person should be really allowed into God's                             kingdom, because all are sinners.

Fact 5:  A death penalty can be logically only taken for another convict, by somebody
who himself was not sentenced to death, but was innocent.

A person sentenced to death can not simultaneously take the death penalty

for another. Only an innocent could do that for him.

Fact 6:  Jesus Christ is the only one who has not sinned - thus is completely innocent.
As a result, only he was allowed to take our punishment (the death penalty) -
and that is what he did on the cross - for us !

Now for those readers the information, that takes time for God and Jesus.

Ask a Christian: "Why did Jesus die ?"

His answer will be: "For the forgiveness of our sins."

"And ye know that he (Jesus Christ) was manifested to take away our sins ..."
(1 John 3/5)

Jesus has sacrificed himself for our sins -
He gave himself as a vicarious representative for us.

"... Jesus Christ, Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us ..."
(Galatians 1/3-4)

"... Jesus ... Who was delivered for our offences ..."
(Romans 4/24-25)

But, you may not ask him (or her) about the exact details and requirements for the forgiveness of sins.
More was hardly explained to him (or her).

Perhaps it is similar to you ?

So now some important Bible quotations that can give you more information.

There are three single facts (hereinafter, in bold blue),
which in their entirety require,
that Jesus Christ had to die for us on the cross.
Otherwise, not a single person would enter into God's kingdom.

Fact 1: God does not take back what has been said.

First of all something very important:
What God once said, he does not take back to change it.
This is good because we can, therefore, rely upon one hundred percent
on what God said.
It's law !
It is unambiguous.

Take some government of this world: It establishes a law today,
to change it tomorrow,
So that it can be corrected once more.
But can one adjust to it then, if changes occur constantly ?
No, people are insecure.

With God, this is different:
He is absolutely reliable because he never changes what has been said !

"My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips."
(Psalm 89/34)

"I (God) have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return ..."
(Isaiah 45/23)

"Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things
that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand,
and I will do all my pleasure:"
(Isaiah 46/10)

"... yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it."
(Isaiah 46/11)

"... I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it."
(Ezekiel 36/36)

"... I the LORD have spoken and have done it."
(Ezekiel 17/24 and Ezekiel 37/14)

"... I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it."
(Ezekiel 22/14)

"I the LORD have said, I will surely do it ..."
(Numbers 14/35)

"... for the LORD hath both devised and done that which he spake ..."
(Jeremiah 51/12)

"... Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more,
but the word which I have spoken shall be done ..."
(Ezekiel 12/28)

"... I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass (guaranteed)
... I say the word, and will perform it ..."
(Ezekiel 12/25)

It is also explained in Isaiah,
That God does not withdraw his words:

"... and (God) will not call back his words."
(Isaiah 31/2)

"For I am the LORD, I change not ..."
(Malachi 3/6)

"... Father of lights (which means God), with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."
(James 1/17)

"He (God) hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations."
(Psalm 105/8)

God is not unconstant (as we humans), but always constant.

Fact 2: God established that no sinner can get eternal life in his kingdom.

"But your iniquities (sins) have separated between you and your God ..."
(Isaiah 59/2)

God says:

"... all souls are mine ... the soul that sinneth, it shall die."
(Ezekiel 18/4)

"... the wages of sin is death ..."
(Romans 6/23)

Wages are a reward or payment.
So: The reward for sin is death (the deprivation of eternal life).

Fact 3: Everyone sins - hence is a sinner.

"For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not."
(Ecclesiastes 7/20)

"... for there is no man which sinneth not ..."
(2 Chronicles 6/36 and 1 Kings 8/46)

Double denial means, therefore, that every man sins !

"For all have sinned ..."
(Romans 3/23)

"... for in thy sight shall no man living be justified."
(Psalm 143/2)

That means all men sin !

Let's summarise:

1. God does not take back what has been said.

2. Everyone who sins does not get eternal life.

3. Everyone - really everyone sins.

This would mean that no man could enter into God's kingdom.

But what should God do to give some people access to his kingdom ?

He has worked out a healing plan.

Salvation means salvation. So a healing plan is a plan for salvation.

In the Old Testament, we are told that humans sacrificed animals,
to be freed from their sins by the blood of the sacrificed.
The best animals, being without any blemish or spots had to be sacrificed.
And even with that, the people tried to deceive God:

"... and that which they offer there is unclean."
(Haggai 2/14)

God said,

"And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil?
and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil?
offer it now unto thy governor;
will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person?
(with such an inferior gift)
saith the LORD of hosts."
(Malachi 1/8)

"... and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick;
thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD.
But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth,
and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing ..."
(Malachi 1/13-14)

- 4 -

⇑ Here back to top of page ⇑

However, people continued to sin after the sacrificial ritual, so that once again animals were sacrificed.
Until God finally decided that he would not accept any more sacrifices in the future.
The last sacrifice for all men,
should be a completely error-free "sacrificial lamb":
His own son Jesus Christ.

Jesus was completely pure, without error, and without sin.

"And ye know that he (Jesus Christ) was manifested to take away our sins;
and in him is no sin."
(1 John 3/5)

"... Jesus Christ ...
... and washed us from our sins in his own blood."
(Revelation 1/5)

Jesus was, so to speak, the last sacrifice.

"But this man (Jesus Christ),
after he had offered one (last) sacrifice for sins for ever,
sat down on the right hand of God;"
(Hebrews 10/12)

"For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins."
(Hebrews 10/4)

"And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes
the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:"
(Hebrews 10/11)

Jesus Christ is also referred to in the Bible as "the Lamb of God"
Or as a "sacrificial lamb" or "Passover lamb".

"The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith,
Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."
(John 1/29)

"And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!"
(John 1/36)

"... ye were not redeemed (of your sins) with corruptible things ...
... But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:"
(1 Peter 1/18-19)

"... Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power ...
unto the Lamb (Jesus Christ) for ever and ever."
(Revelation 5/13)

"... For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:"
(1 Corinthians 5/7)

"... but now once in the end of the world hath he (Jesus Christ)
appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself."
(Hebrews 9/26)

In the Old Testament, we are told that the sins were forgiven by bloodshed
- blood of sacrificial animals.

(Please also refer to the cleartext point 169.)

Jesus Christ took over the role of the sacrificial lamb
so that our sins could be forgiven -
And therefore his blood had to flow.

"And almost all things are by the law purged with blood;
and without shedding of blood is no remission."
(Hebrews 9/22)

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, should bear the sin of mankind - and then
as a sinner receive the just punishment for our sins: namely, death !

This may sound very hard, but what other option would God have had otherwise,
without breaking his promise ?

So Jesus also took on your and my sins.

"... Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures."
(1 Corinthians 15/3)

"... and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all."
(Isaiah 53/6)

Our "sin register", our "debt letter" was tied to Jesus -
And erased by Jesus' punishment on the cross.

Thus God has removed our sins from us ("washed away" so to speak).
These sins stood as a huge demand against us "in space"
And they would have prevented our stay in paradise.

"Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us,
which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;"
(Colossians 2/14)

"... Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep,
we should live together (from Judgement day in paradise) with him."
(1 Thessalonians 5/9-10)

"But he (Jesus Christ) was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace (with God)
was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (cured of sin)."
(Isaiah 53/5)

"... and he (Jesus Christ) bare the sin of many ..."
(Isaiah 53/12)

"He was oppressed, and he was afflicted ...
he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb,
so he openeth not his mouth."
(Isaiah 53/7)

"... for he was cut off out of the land of the living (he died):
for the transgression of my people was he stricken."
(Isaiah 53/8)

"For he (God) hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin
(Jesus Christ, who had never sinned);
that we might be made the righteousness of God in him
(So that we might be purified, so that we may step before God)."
(2 Corinthians 5/21)

"... Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us ..."
(Galatians 1/3-4)

"... Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us ..."
(Titus 2/13-14)

"... for he shall bear their iniquities."
(Isaiah 53/11)

"... having forgiven you (by his death on the cross) all trespasses;"
(Colossians 2/13)

"... of His dear Son (Jesus Christ),
In whom we have redemption (the salvation from eternal damnation)
through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:"
(Colossians 1/13-14)

"In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins ..."
(Ephesians 1/7)

"... when he had by himself purged our sins ..."
(Hebrews 1/3)

Through the blood of the "sacrificial lamb" Jesus Christ, we can be freed from our sins.

"... the blood of Jesus ... cleanseth us from all sin."
(1 John 1/7)

Those who claim Jesus' death on the cross,
have had their sins "washed away" by Jesus' blood.

"... These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes,
and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."
(Revelation 7/14)

But why was only Jesus able to take the punishment,
which we actually deserved ?

There is a very logical explanation for this:

Please imagine, we would still have the death penalty.
Two people are sentenced to death for their deeds.
Suddenly the one criminal says to the judge:
"I'm ready to take the death penalty for my buddy."

This may sound very noble, but it is not possible,
Because he himself was already condemned to death.
His life is already worthless in the eyes of the judge.
Only an innocent can take the guilt of another,
and receive the punishment in his place.

The same is true of the remission of sins.
God has decreed that every sinner shall die.
But if every man has sinned, and shall die for it,
how can then anyone who is condemned to death anyway,
take the death penalty for someone else ?

Only a sinless man could bear the burden of punishment.

But since all men have sinned, it was only possible for Jesus Christ,
to take our punishment, because he was the only man,
who lived entirely without sin.

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins (But not for his own, for he was wholly without sin, but for our sins),
the just (Jesus) for the unjust (for us), that he might bring us to God ..."
(1 Peter 3/18)

That this would happen was already mentioned several times in the Old Testament
(Long before Jesus Christ came to this earth).

"To him (Jesus Christ) give all the prophets (in the Old Testament) witness,
that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins."
(Acts 10/43)

"Ought not Christ to have suffered these things (the crucifixion),
and to enter into his glory?"
(Luke 24/26)

Yes, he had to, because there was no other possibility.

God had therefore decided that Jesus should take our sins from us,
and he, with this sinful burden, is deputising for us the death penalty,
which we actually deserve.

Jesus said that it was decided so:

"And truly the Son of man (Jesus) goeth (dies on the cross), as it was determined ..."
(Luke 22/22)

Jesus Christ, therefore, was the only one who was allowed the possibility to forgive us our sins.
He came from God (from God's kingdom) with this responsible task, which God gave him into the hands.
When he had done everything, he went back to the kingdom of God.

"Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands,
and that he was come from God, and went to God;"
(John 13/3)

⇑ Here back to top of page ⇑

Satan employs all his powers to lure men away from God through sin.
Jesus Christ came to this earth, that he might free us from our sins by his crucifixion.

"He that committeth sin is of the devil ..."
(1 John 3/8)

He who sins, therefore, serves Satan.

Who, however, wholeheartedly converts himself to God and Jesus,
can be forgiven his (her) sins by Jesus Christ, through honest penitence. (see cleartext point 009)

"... For this purpose the Son of God was manifested,
that he might destroy the works of the devil."
(1 John 3/8)

Jesus Christ can destroy the work of Satan.
It is thus possible for him to free the people from the clutches of Satan.
By doing penance, the sin is "washed off".
Satan's work was in vain.
This sinless man now is accepted by God.

But this man has to give himself with all his heart,
Not to repeat the sins - he (or she) must turn from sin !

This is the condition that God and Jesus place !

"If we confess our sins (in prayer before Jesus Christ),
he (the Lord) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
(1 John 1/9)

Jesus Christ was crucified and cruelly crucified on the cross.
Imagine yourself these torments,
which the Lord Jesus has undertaken for you (and for me).
Do not soften your thoughts just because this is too cruel for you.
Actually, you (and I) should have suffered these torments.

And if someone hung on the cross for hours on end, and the "death did not come",
then sometimes the "condemned" was "helped".
This sounds good - but was also very agonising:
He got both legs broken with one blow.
As a result, the upper body sagged,
because the legs could no longer support the body load.
This resulted in a pressure on the lung - leading to suffocation.

We should have suffered these torments - would not Jesus Christ
have gone to death for us as a substitute !
Through him, we were saved.
Shouldn´t we be indefinitely grateful to him for this ?

God turns away from all sinners !

Jesus cried on the cross to his Father in heaven:

"My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"
(Matthew 27/46 and Mark 15/34)

But God had turned away from this "sinner" !

He even turned away from his own son, Jesus Christ,
because Jesus was at that time a sinner in God's eyes (he bore our sins).

Do you then believe what the preachers of the half-truths are telling the people (unfortunately with success)
when they say, "God loves all sinners."

(For the half-truths please see the cleartext point 106.)

⇑ Here back to top of page ⇑

Jesus Christ died vicariously for our sins.
But he has risen from the dead on the third day -
He was raised by God.

"... God, that raised him (Jesus) up from the dead ..."
(1 Peter 1/21)

This is reported in the Bible.

"After that (after his resurrection) he (Jesus Christ) was seen
Of above five hundred brethren at once ... "
(1 Corinthians 15/6)

According to this statement, other witnesses for his resurrection are named in the Bible.

"And killed (Which refers to those, who caused the crucifixion of Jesus)
the Prince of life (Jesus Christ), whom God hath raised from the dead;
whereof we are witnesses."
(Acts 3/15)

"This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses."
(Acts 2/32)

"To whom also he (Jesus) shewed himself alive after his passion (on the cross)
by many infallible proofs (Jesus proved to them that he is not only a spirit),
being seen of them (he showed them) forty days,
and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:"
(Acts 1/3)

"And last of all he was seen of me (the Christian persecutor Saul) also ..."
(1 Corinthians 15/8)

These are the words of Paul (whose real name was Saul)
Who even actively prosecuted the Christians himself before his conversion
and transferred them to punishment.

Why should a man who does his duty on the "side of the strong" (the state)
voluntarily switch sides to the "weak" (persecuted Christians) ?

Only someone who is fully convinced that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead -
Someone who believes in the resurrection of Jesus - believes in Jesus.

Other witnesses for his resurrection are mentioned under the following passages:
(Matthew 28/1-20 and Mark 16/1-20 and Luke 24/1-53
And John 20/1-31 and John 21/1-25)

"Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead,
how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain,
and your faith is also vain."
(1 Corinthians 15/12-14)

"For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
(Then your sins could not be "washed away.")
If in this life only we have hope in Christ,
we are of all men most miserable."
(1 Corinthians 15/16-17 + 19)

But we can be quite certain that Jesus Christ has risen from the dead. He himself also reaffirms:

"I (Jesus Christ) am he that liveth, and was dead (after the crucifixion);
and, behold, I am alive (risen on the third day) for evermore (he will never die again),
Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death."
(Revelation 1/18)

- 9 -

⇑ Here back to top of page ⇑

Jesus Christ is often described as the good shepherd.
He also says this about himself:

"I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth (sacrifices) his life for the sheep."
(John 10/11)

Jesus explains that he knows those who are his friends -
And for them, he will be the good shepherd. For them,
he is ready to sacrifice his life.

"I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep (I know those, who belong to me),
and am known of mine.
As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father ..."
(John 10/14-15)

Jesus explains:

"Therefore doth my Father (God) love me, because I lay down my life,
that I might take it again (Jesus voluntarily sacrificed his life for us-
And he took it back again on the third day).
No man taketh it from me (no one is able to take my life),
but I lay it down of myself (I sacrifice it voluntarily for you).
I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again ..."
(John 10/17-18)

Important to know:

Jesus Christ has sacrificed his life on the cross for us.
So he died as a "sinner" for us humans,
that we may be delivered from our sins.

"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree (by his crucifixion),
that we, being dead to sins (freed from sin), should live unto righteousness:
by whose stripes (through Jesus' crucifixion wounds) ye were healed (you were saved)."
(1 Peter 2/24)

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, says:

"If the Son (Jesus) therefore shall make you free (from sins), ye shall be free indeed."
(John 8/36)

"... for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God (God´s kingdom)
by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;"
(Revelation 5/9)

Paul tells us:

"For I delivered (explained) unto you first of all that which I also received (have learnt),
how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures (as it was foretold in the bible) ..."
(1 Corinthians 15/3)

Jesus Christ has sacrificed his life under agonising pain on the cross, out of love for us sinful people-
to "cleanse" us of sin.

"... Son of God (Jesus Christ), who loved me
And gave (sacrificed) himself for me."
(Galatians 2/20)

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins (but not for his own, for he was wholly without sin, but for our sins),
the just (Jesus) for the unjust (for us), that he might bring us to God ..."
(1Peter 3/18)

But Jesus did not die for all men, but only for those who
are also really seriously ready to turn away from sin.

If Jesus Christ had died for all sinners on the cross,
then this would mean that all criminals, murderers and child molesters
could live in paradise with God and Jesus Christ,
without ever turning away from these sins.

Be completely reassured. This will not happen.
God has also made provision for this !
Jesus Christ has not died for all sinners.

This is only asserted by the preachers of the half-truths to which it does not matter,
whether the listeners get eternal life with God and Jesus - or not.
It is only important to them that the money of the "faithful" flows into their pockets.
They soothe the people with half-truths, not to "bump" them.
(Please read, as already mentioned, about the half-truths
also the cleartext point 106.)

⇑ Here back to top of page ⇑

But for whom did Jesus really die ?
Who is getting into his kingdom ?

Two criminals were crucified with him.
To one Jesus Christ has promised life in paradise.
To the other not !

But what distinguishes the two criminals,
that Jesus makes such a huge difference between them ?

If Jesus Christ had died for all sinners,
then both criminals would have eternal life
in his kingdom.

But Jesus said only to one of them:

"Verily, I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise."
(Luke 23/43)

We also find this explanation for the decision of Jesus Christ in the Bible.
The one criminal has repented his sins from the depths of his heart in the last moment.
He did this by saying:

"... we receive the due reward of our deeds ..."
(Luke 23/41)

He repented - he regretted his deeds.

Repentance is a very important point to get into God's kingdom.
(Please read the cleartext point 009.)

In the Bible, statements of Jesus Christ were written,
in which he declared that he did not die for all sinners:

"... the Son of man (Jesus Christ) ... give his life a ransom for many."
(Matthew 20/28)

The word many does not automatically mean: all !

"... the Son of Man (Jesus Christ) ... give his life as a ransom for many."
(- But not for all.)
(Mark 10/45)

"... So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many ..."
("Many" - but it is not written there: all humans.)
(Hebrews 9/28)

"... and he (Jesus Christ) bare the sin of many (not all) ..."
(Isaiah 53/12)

Jesus Christ said,

"For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."
(He said, "... for many ..." - but he did not say "for all".)
(Matthew 26/28)

Jesus himself asked God in prayer for assistance for only a limited group of people.
He said:

"I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine."
(John 17/9)

So there is a difference between people,
although in the eyes of God all are sinners.

God knows who repents his sins from the bottom of his heart -
And who does not ?

All those who are easy to pass through God's laws,
they do not belong to the group that God wants to have for his kingdom.

- 11 -

⇑ Here back to top of page ⇑

Jesus himself tells us for whom he died on the cross,
whom he would like to have in his eternal kingdom - namely, his friends !

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
(John 15/13)

But am I really his friend ?

Are you really his friend ?

Jesus Christ says:

"Ye are (only) my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you."
(If you put it into practice, what I tell you and ask you.)
(John 15/14)

By believing his words and putting them into practice, you become his friend.

Only with the "put into action" you fulfil all the conditions for a real friendship to the Lord.

"... he (Jesus Christ) became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;"
(Hebrews 5/9)

The salvation, therefore, those receive who "obey" Jesus Christ. "

"And the Redeemer (Jesus) shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression ..."
(Isaiah 59/20)

Those who "turn away from sin" are redeemed and saved by Jesus Christ.

"Turning from sin" means:

Wholeheartedly try not to repeat the sin.

"Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto (eternal) life."
(Acts 11/18)

Always think of the condition for forgiveness:

The reversal - the turning away from sinful life !

If you continue to live as a sinner,
then the crucifixion of Jesus Christ does not apply to you !

All this is difficult to understand - but with the help of God and Jesus
(Please ask in prayer that you understand this) you will succeed
to see how God's plan of salvation is composed.

The following parable makes it clear how it is to be understood,
if someone takes the penalty for another person.

In a kingdom, the theft had become a big problem.
Thereupon the king issued a law that every thief shall receive
12 whiplashes.

A few weeks later, the King's mother was caught in the act of stealing.
Since she was already 86 years old, she probably would not have survived the sentence.

What should the king have done now - to release her of the punishment ?

Then people would have whispered, that he measures with two dimensions:
The subjects are whipped - but his mother has a"fool license".

The king was a righteous ruler, and condemned his own mother,
so she should be whipped.

When they wanted to begin to execute the punishment,
the king threw himself upon the body of his mother,
and deputised the sentence imposed for her.

God has also set a hard punishment for sin: death.

But God came to this earth in the person of Jesus Christ,
and deputising for us, endured the punishment for sin on the cross, which is death.

If you say (or think) that not God, but His Son
Jesus Christ had to die on the cross, then please remember that God, Jesus
and the Holy Spirit form a unity - the trinity.

(For further information on trinity, please see the cleartext point 147.)

Another parable I would like to give you for a better understanding:
There was a very strict but at the same time very fair judge.
He always judged fairly - and did not allow exceptions.
A child of this judge was caught in a criminal offence.
How would this just judge rule ?
Would he turn a "blind eye" - or would he justify ?

At the trial, everyone held their breath as he spoke,
"I condemn you to the fined amount of ..."

The audience was shocked.
A hard-hitting verdict - and the punishment would have been unbearable for the defendant !

Then the judge said,
"Defendant, I, your father, am willing to pay the penalty for you.
The conditions are as follows:

1. You must repent your wrong action,
that you never do such a thing again.

2. You must be ready to accept my help.

3. You must believe me that I have paid the blame for you. "

It was the same as God did with me and with you.
He pledged our sin with the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Now we must:

1. Recognise our faults and repent these mistakes honestly in prayer before Jesus -
And then, with all our heart, endeavour to change our lives,
that we do not repeat the sins and mistakes.

2. Be ready to accept the help of Jesus Christ.

3. firmly believe that by his death on the cross,
he freed us from our sins.

All this is difficult to understand.
But it is only incomprehensible and unbelievable to people,
who do not seek God with all their heart - who are lost after their death.
For those who are seriously trying to understand this, it is a good news:

- 13 -

⇑ Here back to top of page ⇑

Jesus Christ has taken on the sins of men -
And endured the punishment on the cross.

Thus, the human sinners were reconciled with God - their sins were "washed away".
This is the gospel (translated: the good news).

For the believing Christians, it is a help and gives them strength,
when they know that Jesus has "taken" their guilt from them.

"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness
(Which are sent to eternal damnation on the Day of Judgment);
but unto us which are saved (who will have eternal life) it is the power of God."
(1 Corinthians 1/18)

Remember the words of Jesus Christ:

"I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep."
(John 10/11)

Who does not accept this sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross,
the one will not get eternal life !

Jesus explains this:

"I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins (And therefore will not get eternal life):
for if ye believe not that I am he (who can forgive your sins), ye shall die in your sins."
(John 8/24)

It is, therefore, superfluous to think about which faith is the right thing.
All the faiths, that are not placing Jesus and his crucifixion for the forgiveness of our sins
in the centre, do not lead their "believers" into eternal life.

This is not what I say - but Jesus Christ himself explains it to us.
We can only enter into eternal life through Jesus Christ to God.
Please read the following Bible quotations, which clearly prove this statement.

Jesus says:

"... I am the way, and the truth, and the life;
No man cometh unto the Father (to God, it is), but by me."
(John 14/6)

He set us free from God's way, by freeing us from our sins.

"For through him (Jesus Christ) we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father."
(Ephesians 2/18)

"He that hath the Son (Jesus Christ) hath (eternal) life;
and he that hath not the Son of God
(who does not recognise Jesus Christ as the Son of God)
hath not (eternal) life."
(1 John 5/12)

"Whosoever denieth the Son (Jesus Christ), the same hath not the Father (God):
(but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also."
(1 John 2/23)

"... and he that believeth not the Son (Jesus Christ)
shall not see (eternal) life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."
(John 3/36)

People who think that they are "believers" because they recognise God,
put reject Jesus Christ as the Son of God will be lost on the Last Day,
despite their faith !

Only through Jesus Christ can we reach God in his eternal kingdom !

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under
heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (happy in God's kingdom)."
(Acts 4/12)

Question:

Who would be interested in denying Jesus Christ,
and deny that he is the Son of God ?
Only one: Satan - the Antichrist !

"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ?
He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son."
(1 John 2/22)

Satan spreads his teaching worldwide with great success !
And many people believe this doctrine of the antichrist,
believing that Jesus is not the Son of God.

These lost people can only be regretted, which unconsciously listen to Satan.
They often do so much good for God - but it is all in vain.

God will reject them on the Last Day because they reject Jesus Christ !

Please also read the cleartext point 123 on this topic.
There the question is answered: "Is Jesus Christ the Son of God ?"

- 14 -

⇑ Here back to top of page ⇑

Jesus has "washed" away all our sins through his precious blood.

"... and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
(1 John 1/7)

Whoever does not claim this for himself, keeps the sins by himself.
But whoever is burdened with sin can not enter into God's kingdom !

If someone has "learned" that Jesus Christ has given,
but was only a prophet, the one is mistaken.
And this error costs the eternal life !

The people who teach with their "spirit",
that Jesus Christ is not the Son of God,
serve Satan - and lie !

But that is not surprising, for Satan is the father of lies.

"... he (Satan) is a liar and the father of it."
(John 8/44)

"And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God:
and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come;
and even now already is it in the world."
(1 John 4/3)

Jesus Christ said it straightforward:

" I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father (God), but by me."
(John 14/6)

Jesus Christ warns us:

"But whosoever shall deny me before men,
him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven."
(Matthew 10/33)

"... if we deny him (Jesus Christ), he also will deny us:"
(2 Timothy 2/12)

There is only one mediator between God and us sinful people:
Jesus Christ !

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"
(1 Timothy 2/5)

"And for this cause he (Jesus Christ) is the mediator of the new testament,
that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were
under the first testament, they (the chosen ones of God) which are called might
receive the promise of eternal inheritance (the life in paradise)."
(Hebrews 9/15)

Now, a promise how we (although our body must die)
will have eternal life nevertheless:

"And if Christ be in you (if you keep in touch with him),
the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life ..."
(Romans 8/10)

Please refer to the cleartext point 039 for how you keep in touch with Jesus Christ.

- 15 -

God justifies why all people must die once:
Sin is the cause.

"Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin
(because God had established: "Every man that sins shall die.");
and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"
(Romans 5/12)

"For since by man (Adam) came death, by man (Jesus Christ)
came also the resurrection of the dead.
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive."
(1 Corinthians 15/21-22)

"Therefore as by the offence of one (Adam) judgment came upon all men to condemnation;
even so by the righteousness of one (Jesus Christ - he lived without ever having sinned)
the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life
(through the forgiveness of sins everyone has the right,
To come to God's kingdom).
For as by one man's (Adam´s) disobedience many (men) were made sinners,
so by the obedience of one (Jesus Christ) shall many (men)
be made righteous (they will be forgiven their sins)."
(Romans 5/18-19)

The bible also confirms that Jesus Christ is really the Son of God.
God's voice was heard from heaven, saying,

"... Thou art my beloved Son ..."
(Mark 1/11 and Luke 3/22)

Jesus Christ healed the sick, and he raised the dead.
He even raised a dead man (Lazarus) who had died four days before
and already passed into putrefaction. (John 11/39)

He knew things that no man could know.
(Please also read the cleartext point 124.)

All this he did so that men should know that he is the Son of God.

Jesus Christ sacrificed his precious life so that the people who inadvertently sin,
could live as a common people in God's eternal kingdom after the resurrection.

"... that Jesus should die (for the forgiveness of sins) for that nation
(For all the people of God - so for all those who try with all their heart to obey God,
But nevertheless sometimes inadvertently sin [because of the negative influence of Satan]);
And not for that nation (Jews) only, but that also he should gather together
(On the last day in God's kingdom)
in one the children of God that were scattered abroad
(scattered all over the world) (ie you and me)."
(John 11/51-52)

Since Jesus Christ "redeemed us" from our sins through his death on the cross,
we can get eternal life in God's kingdom.
But always keep in mind that your life has not been sold for quite normal ransom,
but that a completely innocent and sinless one, who is even the Son of God,
has sacrificed his life for you under horrendous pain.

"Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things,
as silver and gold ... But with the precious blood of Christ,
as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:"
(1 Peter 1/18-19)

- 16 -

⇑ Here back to top of page ⇑

Just as God and Jesus Christ forgive us our sins,
we should also forgive our fellow men their faults and their sins.
This is a basic prerequisite for God to forgive us our faults:

In "The Lord's Prayer" we speak the sentence:

"And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors."
(Matthew 6/12 and Luke 11/4)

Jesus tells us Christians that we are even committed to forgiving.
Otherwise, we can not expect God to forgive us our sins.

Jesus says:

"... forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:"
(Luke 6/37)

Forgive your fellow men all their misdeeds,
only then will God forgive you.

Jesus told us:

"And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any:
that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
But if ye do not forgive (your fellow men or enemies),
neither will your Father (God) which is in heaven forgive your trespasses."
(Mark 11/25-26)

When we pray, we should not bear anger in ourselves-
but bury the "hatchet" before.

"I will therefore that men (and, of course, the women) pray ... without wrath and doubting."
(1 Timothy 2/8)

Jesus reaffirmed that we had to forgive:

"For if ye forgive men their trespasses,
your heavenly Father (God) will (then) also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, (then)
neither will your Father (God) forgive your trespasses."
(Matthew 6/14-15)

The so - called "if - then - principle" applies to God.

(Please read the important information in the cleartext point 170 for God "if - then - principle").

In the Bible (Matthew 18/21-35) you find a parable (read it there)
which Jesus told his listeners. He describes exactly, how God
will "deal" with us on the last day if we are not ready
to forgive our fellow human beings.

Please read in the cleartext point 078, that we have to forgive our fellow human beings,
for the Lord to forgive us.

"... forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
(Ephesians 4/32)

Only when we forgive our fellow men their mistakes, is the Lord also merciful and
crucified and compassionate with us - and forgives us our sins and mistakes.

Please read the cleartext point 137 about the conditions for God's grace and mercy.

Now you've read a lot about, that Jesus Chrcrucified and
died for the forgiveness of our sins. But this doesn´t mean, we have the
"freedom", which allows us to continue to sin.

Our task is to find out how God wishes a Christian to be
and then wholeheartedly try to achieve this goal.

We have to turn away from sin !

If we don´t do this - and continue to live as before,
the crucifixion of Jesus is not valid for the forgiveness of our sins.

This is clearly stated in God's Word:

"For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth,
there remaineth (in the future) no more sacrifice for sins
(Jesus sacrifice on the Cross does not count),
but a certain fearful looking for of judgment
(In which Jesus Christ a just - will be tough as a judge)
and fiery indignation (hell), which shall devour the adversaries."
(Hebrews 10/26-27)

Please also read the cleartext point 165 on the subject: "to sin wilfully".

- 17 -

⇑ Here back to top of page ⇑

Of course, we will never be able to walk through life one hundred percent without errors.
But God and Jesus know whether we commit wholeheartedly,
to follow their words - or whether we approach the matter only half-heartedly.

Once you have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior
(inwardly in your thoughts and in the feeling of your heart), then you are saved.

Tell the Lord Jesus in a prayer formulated with your own words,
that you believe that he has taken all your sins,
and that he had received the punishment on the cross,
which you as a sinner would have really deserved.
Thank him for doing this for you.

Then you have so-called "certainty of salvation".
(This is not a meaningless pious word, but a very important statement and guarantee.
What is salvation is shown in the alphabetical search terms.)

Out of gratitude to your Savior Jesus Christ
It will be much easier for you,
to live as the Lord expects you to.

Please also read the cleartext point 064. Its title:
How does a "You must ...!" - become a voluntary: "I want ...!" -?

Your prayer could be formulated as follows:

"Lord Jesus Christ, I thank you with all my heart,
that I understood by the clear words of this homepage,
that you have endured the agony on the cross for me,
when you took my sins upon you, and therefore
were punished with death - with the death,
which I had deserved as a sinner.

I believe with all my heart, that you have done this for me (for the forgiveness of my sins).

I know that you are the Son of God,
and I acknowledge thee as my Savior.
Please help me from now on,
to put your word into action.

Lord Jesus, I want to repent of my sins from the bottom of my heart.
Please forgive me the following sins: ... "

Try to recall as much as possible,
which you remember as a sin in your life.
Think intensely of your sins before this prayer.
Make notes on a piece of paper so as not to forget anything.
So the Lord recognises that you are serious about it.
Repent your sins honestly, and ask for forgiveness.

At the end of the prayer, surrender your entire life to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Speak to him the following or similar words:

"Lord Jesus Christ, I ask you,
to take the leadership in my life.
Help me, that I can recognise my sins and mistakes,
and will not repeat them again.
Please direct my thoughts, words, and works,
So I think, speak and do,
what is in your interest.
Thank you, Lord, for your help !"

If a few days or weeks later, you remember more sins you
have committed in past times, then you can explain them at any time to
the Lord Jesus in a prayer - and also repent of these sins.

Important to know:

If you have repented the past sins before the Lord Jesus,
then they are erased forever and ever. They are never "pulled back" again.
As a result, you do not have to mention these sins once again before Jesus.
Some people regret the past over and over again.
This is, however, a sign for Jesus that these people doubt,
that he hears their prayers and a sign of doubt, that Jesus forgives these sins.

Only if you have committed this sin again inadvertently,
then you can repent it again before Jesus, and ask for help,
that the next time you realise ahead, that it is sin.

Turn in prayer directly to Jesus - not to Mary.
(You can see why this is forbidden to us in cleartext point 101.)

You do not need a priest to confess - only Jesus Christ.
Do honest repentance before him.
(Please also read the cleartext point 102.)

I would also like to recommend you the cleartext point 164.
Its title: Thoughts about easter.

Always remember the warning:

"For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth,
there remaineth (in the future) no more sacrifice for sins,
(Jesus sacrifice on the Cross does not count)
but a certain fearful looking for of judgment
(In which Jesus Christ a just - will be a tough judge) and fiery indignation, (hell)
which shall devour the adversaries."
(Hebrews 10/26-27)

The sermons that God loves sinners therefore lie.

(Please read the cleartext point 106, how the believers are dumbed down with half-truths.)

The statement that Jesus has sacrificed his life for the forgiveness of our sins on the cross,
is valid only on the condition that the sinner tries with all his heart,
not to repeat the sins.

God compares those who want to hide their sins under the blood of Jesus' crucifixion,
with people who have built a wall - a wall of sins.
This sin wall separates them from God.

God, the Lord, compares the preachers of the half-truths (and those who believe their preachers)
with people who wash this wall with white lime (so they paint) to make it clean
and shine bright, though the sins are still hidden underneath.

The Lord, however, sees these covert sins - is very angry about this and burns with fury.

He speaks:

"Because, even because they have seduced my people (with their half-truths),
saying, Peace; and there was no peace (between God and sinners);
and one built up a (sin) wall, and, lo, others (the lie preachers) daubed it
with untempered morter (to cover the sins):
Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter (shiny white),
that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower;
and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it.
(On the last day, before the final judgment the whited wall will
lose its lovely color, so that the dirty sins become visible.
But then it is too late to change anything !)
Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you,
Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it?
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury;
and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger,
and great hailstones in my fury to consume it.
So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter,
and bring it down to the ground,
so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall,
and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof:
and ye shall know that I am the LORD. Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall,
and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter, and will say unto you,
The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it;"
(Ezekiel 13/10-15)

(Please read about real and honest repentance the cleartext point 009.)

What kind of rage the so-called "dear God" really carries with himself,
the following lines illustrate:

"God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth,
and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries,
and he reserveth wrath for his enemies."
(Nahum 1/2)

"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."
(Hebrews 10/31)

Who are his enemies and adversaries
The people who are not ready to put all the laws into action.
It is indifferent how "pious" and "believing" these people feel themselves.
All this does not count, if one or more laws
are rejected by the "believer" or "Christian".
God doesn´t tolerate this !!

⇑ Here back to top of page ⇑

Again, the summary already mentioned at the beginning.

Fact 1:

God does not take back what has been said.

Fact 2:

God has established that no sinner can get eternal life in his kingdom,
but the sinner deserves death for punishment.

Fact 3:

Everyone sins - thus is a sinner who has to die.

Fact 4:

Consequently, not a single person should be really allowed into God's kingdom, because all are sinners.

Fact 5:

A death penalty can be logically only taken for another convict, by somebody
who himself was not sentenced to death, but was innocent.

A person sentenced to death can not simultaneously take the death penalty for another.
Only an innocent could do this for him.

Fact 6:

Jesus Christ is the only one who has not sinned - thus is completely innocent.
As a result, only he was allowed to take our punishment (the death penalty) -
and that is what he did on the cross - for us !

Through honest repentance, we can surrender our sins to Jesus Christ -
And he deputises the death penalty for us.

This freed us from our sins because Jesus was bearing the punishment on the cross as a sinner for us,
under agonising pain and died.

Therefore on the Day of Judgment, we can enter into God's kingdom without sin,
because through Jesus' blood our sins were "washed away".

"The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished ..."
(Lamentations 4/22)

God had made this possible because he loves us.

He proved us his love by offering us a possibility,
through which we can be saved - by doing honest repentance.

But we should answer the love of God, and prove our love to him,
that we will make every effort to comply with his laws
and to put his word into action.

"... shew ye to them ... the proof of your love ..."
(2 Corinthians 8/24)

"... let us not love in word ... but in deed ..."
(1 John 3/18)

"We love him (the Lord), because he first loved us (and proved us this love)."
(1 John 4/19)

"In this was manifested the love of God toward us,
because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world
(sent him to this earth), that we might live through him
(through his work of salvation on the cross) (from the Last Day in God's Kingdom)."
(1 John 4/9)

"Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us,
and sent his Son (Jesus Christ) to be the propitiation for our sins."
(1 John 4/10)

"For God so loved the world (the people of this world),
that he gave his only begotten Son (Jesus Christ)
(Let him die on the cross for the forgiveness of sins),
that whosoever believeth in (enough to just believe "in" ?) him should not perish,
but have everlasting life."
(John 3/16)

Only "believing in" Jesus is not enough.

How you are guaranteed to be saved and get eternal life
in God's kingdom, you will find out in the cleartext point 001.

He, however, who rejects Jesus Christ and the forgiveness of sins through him,
the one can not be cleansed of his sins.

"... he will visit thine iniquity (on the Last Day) ... he will discover thy sins."
(Lamentations 4/22)

But sinners are denied access to God's kingdom.

On the last day (or after death) one can not regret
or repent anything - then it is too late !

What it means to do honest penance, you will find out in the already mentioned cleartext point 009.

Here to the cleartext point 009.
